Policies and Appointments

New Patients

All new patients are requested to arrive 15-20 minutes before their scheduled appointment time to allow the staff to properly prepare your medical file. For your convenience, downloadable forms are available to fill out before arrival at the office.  Please bring a Photo ID and insurance card to your first visit.

Urgent/Sick Visits

Please call to schedule an appointment before coming to the office. Open Access Scheduling ensures urgent and sick office visits can usually be made the same day. If same day is unavailable, we will make every effort to get you an appointment as soon as possible.

Routine Appointments

Visits for non-urgent problems, the management of chronic medical conditions, and medication refills can usually be made within a week. If you prefer specific times, it is recommended you call several weeks in advance. We also recommend that you make your next follow-up appointment before you leave the office.

Cancellations

Please call 24 hours in advance if you must cancel an appointment. Calling in advance allows us to open the schedule to other patients waiting to be seen. We reserve the right to charge a $25.00 fee for “Missed/No Show” appointments.

Refill of Narcotics

All Controlled Substances require scheduled face-to-face visits with the original prescribing physician. No Narcotics are authorized or filled over the telephone or on an emergent basis.

Physician Assistants

St. Clair Medical, PC employs Physician Assistants as part of our Patient Centered Medical Home effort. These highly trained professionals have Physician supervision and access, and their patient care is reviewed and authorized shortly after your visit.
